“5 Big Benefits of Selling Big Ticket Items” written by Mike Marko.
Are you making some sales in your business, but are struggling to really make it “big”?
Maybe you’re hauling but selling tons of $7 or $25 products, but the effort doesn’t seem to add up to anything substantial.
I understand that struggle, because I was there. I used to focus a lot on these lower ticket items. I thought if I sold ENOUGH of them, that they would add up especially if they were residual income.
The truth be told, you really need big ticket items to become profitable online and have a great income.
That’s why I want to talk today about the benefits of selling big ticket items.
Benefits of Selling Big Ticket Items
Before we dive into the benefits, let’s pause for a second and first give a brief definition of what is a big ticket item.
What Is A Big Ticket Item?
A big ticket item is anything that sells for more than $500.
Pretty simple, huh?
So let’s take a look at the benefits of selling big ticket items.
Benefit #1: It Isn’t Much More Difficult to Sell Big Ticket Items
This may be a tough pill to swallow for some. If you are struggling to sell a $7 product, I’m sure you’re asking why is it not much more difficult to sell bigger ticket items?
That’s because the only real difference between selling smaller ticket items vs. bigger ticket items is positioning. Your position as an authority and someone to be trusted in the industry helps you sell bigger ticket items. And becoming that authority isn’t too difficult… and I can help.
But the point I’m trying to make is that building up the need and the ultimate sale of a big ticket item doesn’t take a lot more effort than the smaller ones. This means for roughly the same effort you can magnify your profits.
Benefit #2: Multiple Streams of Income
Your big ticket items should serve as a product value ladder for your business. This means you can market multiple big ticket items. And when you include a smaller ticket item you can use that as a funded proposal or liquidating offer… basically helping cover your ad spend while you go after the big ticket items.
With all this working for you, even if one product has a slow down in sales, the other products may be doing fine.
Now I/m not telling you to go out and promote a ton of different big ticket items. The products still need to be congruent to your overall business, and have to be high quality. In the long term, this will serve you much better than a “scatter-gun” approach to big ticket sales.
When you have the ability to promote several high quality, big ticket items, you can diversify your income streams WHILE serving your customers. And you are dependent on one stream alone should the market slow in that area.
Benefit #3: Differentiate Yourself
There are a ton of marketers promoting products. Many of these products are e-books or other low profit items.
How will you differentiate yourself from everyone else selling low ticket products?
I believe the best way to differentiate yourself is to sell big ticket items. Many are uncomfortable selling items with a big price tag (like I was) because they have a hard time believing that someone would pay for a product they would struggle to buy themselves, or because they don’t see the value in what they are selling.
That’s why it’s vitally important to sell products and services you BELIEVE IN. Once you believe in the product or service, promoting it to customers is easy because you’ll feel a disservice for NOT promoting it to them.
Also selling big ticket items gains you the respect that selling low ticket items can never give you.
Selling big ticket items puts you in another class from those who only promote low ticket products.
Benefit #4: Bigger Residual Income
You can actually have big ticket items that generate a residual income for you. Imagine getting paid $500, $1000, or even $2000 every month from one sale! That’s the power of bigger ticket items.
Now compare that to a $25/month product. How many more $25/month products do you have to sell to get to $500/month? Twenty! That means you have to both find and sell to nineteen more customers to get the same income as one $500/month sale.
Remember Benefit #1? Isn’t the bigger ticket item now sounding even easier to sell?
Benefit #5: Bigger Return On Your Advertising Dollar
The last benefit I want to talk today about is when you promote big ticket items is that you get a bigger return on your advertising dollar.
Even if you are paying several dollars per lead because you have to make the ads more laser targeted, the return on selling big ticket items is much better than selling cheaper products. When you combine that with the liquidating offer I mention in Benefit #2, you can literally give you income a huge boost.
And when you are promoting quality products and services, those customers are just going to want MORE! That means they will want even more of your big ticket items, and your life-time value of your customers sky rockets!
Final Words on Promoting Big Ticket Items
There are a lot of benefits to promoting big ticket items… too many to ignore. If you are not selling big ticket items as part of your business, you are doing you and your customers a disservice.
