And your goals in an area of your life always seem just outside your reach.
Do you achieve a certain level of success and then hit a glass ceiling or repeat old patterns?
Behavior is said to be self-sabotaging when it interferes with your long-term goals.
The most common self-sabotaging behaviors are procrastination, self-medication with drugs or alcohol and comfort eating.
These acts may make you feel better in the moment, but they ultimately undermine us, especially when we engage in them repeatedly.
How to Avoid Self-Sabotage Behavior
In this article, I am going to be sharing with you seven things that you can do to stop self-sabotage when you reach a certain level of success.
1) Don’t Let Haters Bring You Down
You will need to change who you associate with as you grow and change. Grow by letting go of the people that no longer support your new level of success. Find a mentor who has the life that you want and ASK them to be your mentor.
2) Follow The Advise of Mentors
Listen to your mentor and follow through on what they say. Many times we will spend money on training or listen to some words of advice but never really follow through on implementing any of it.
3) Don’t Blame Others
Don’t Blame people or external circumstances where you are in life. We all have circumstances in our life that could be an excuse to not think we can have the life we want. Once you completely take responsibility for where you are in life and own your own behavior you can start to change.
4) Stop Speaking Negatively About The Future
This can be self-fulfilling prophecies. Especially If you use the two words “I am” If you step up on a stage to deliver an important speech thinking, “I am going to mess everything up.” you will be creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. Instead, repave it with an “I AM” statement that better fits your goals.
“I AM a successful and sought after international speaker.”
5) Stop Negative What-If’s
Instead of thinking what if? In a negative way start saying what if to create a wonderful future.
What if……I mess up this speech and everyone know it.
What if I become a sought after international speaker.
Hang a sign on your computer as a reminder to say What if…… and follow it with something positive every day to train your brain into anticipating the best possible scenario in every area of your life.
6) Stop The Negative Self -Talk.
Try writing down any negative phrases that pop into your head the next time you feel down on yourself.
The things you say to yourself are not something you would say to anyone else. Why would you say this to yourself?
Tame your inner critic by making a list of the negative phrases then replace them with a loving phrase.
7) No More Second-Guessing Your Actions
Make sound decisions based on all the information you can gather and then never second guess the decisions that you’ve made. The past is in the past and everything that you’ve done and gone through has led you to where you are supposed to be in your life.
Trust the process.
8) Don’t Become Prideful.
Continue to have a soft heart and be willing to serve others.

Your words and thoughts are powerful. What you say and do can and will affect your success in any endeavor whether it be financial, love, or health. Start to replace any negative behaviors with positive ones.
