“How to Promote Your Business on LinkedIn Effectively” written by Mike Marko.
Looking for ways on how to promote your business on LinkedIn effectively?
LinkedIn isn’t just for finding work positions or enhancing one’s career. It’s also a great marketing tool to use for your business.
Promoting your business on this platform helps in building audience relationship. Aside from that, this also gives you the chance to make your marketing goals easier to reach.
But..
Promoting business on LinkedIn needs to be done properly to gain good results.
With that said, I compiled some tips for you on how to promote your business on LinkedIn.
Tips on How to Promote Your Business on LinkedIn
Earlier this year, LinkedIn increased its user base to 530 million total members. And with that increase, LinkedIn also provided additional tools that you can utilize for your business.
With the use of these new tools, you can easily generate leads and produce great sales for your brand. However, this means you need to be familiar with such tools, and consider tips on how to properly use it.
So, to help you with that, here are the tips on how to promote your business on LinkedIn effectively.
Utilize a Professional Profile and Cover Logo
There are two things your visitors will immediately notice in your LinkedIn account:
- Your profile picture, and
- Your cover photo.
These two photos are the visitors’ most important basis in trusting your brand (and you).
Profile Picture
Make sure not to use selfies for your profile or cover photo. It’s inappropriate and makes your business look unprofessional.
LinkedIn displays profile photos in 400 x 400 pixels quality. So, when choosing your profile photo, make sure not to use smaller size photos. Otherwise, it will look pixelated or stretched out.
It’s important to use a clear, decent, and high-quality photo to make your profile picture look professional.
Cover Photo
Your cover photo should look professional as well. Incorporate your brand into your cover photo. If you’re going to include messages, try to distribute your brand’s messages equally around the middle portion of the photo.
To give you more idea about this, check our blog about how to create a LinkedIn profile that’s professional.
Create a Catchy Headline
Another tip on how to promote your business on LinkedIn effectively is use a catchy headline.
Write a catchy headline statement that will get the attention of your audience and visitors. Choose a value statement that’ll encourage them to explore more of your profile.
For your headline, don’t make LinkedIn as a repository of a curriculum vitae. That means you don’t need to place your current job position on it. Instead, put skills that are relevant to your business.
Make Use of LinkedIn Answers
One of LinkedIn’s features is the LinkedIn Answers. This allows you to answer questions in your particular niche. LinkedIn Answers is a great way to get you noticed because it’ll show your audience that you know what you’re talking about.
Just make sure that your answers are correct and well-worded to boost your reputation instantly.
Your audience will also know that you’re knowledgeable about your business if you answer more about social marketing business updates.
Use LinkedIn Events in Promoting Events
Just like Facebook, LinkedIn allows you to create events. Making events is one way of promoting your business on LinkedIn. You can invite as many members as you want. Just be sure to promote it beforehand to make sure you’ll have a lot of participants.
For any event you might be holding, make use of LinkedIn’s option to manage events. The first thing to do is to create a clear and concise description of your event.
If visitors want to get involved with your event, they just have to click the “attending” option under LinkedIn events.
When you use LinkedIn events, it’ll help you play up the networking opportunities for your business events. Simply make your events public to share your business information during the event easily .
Write a Call-To-Action Summary
LinkedIn has a section where you can write a 2000-character description summary. Don’t leave this section blank since it can help in conveying a message to your audience.
Use keywords that appeal best to your visitors. Don’t forget to include a value statement on your summary and add a CTA (Call To Action) button.
Use Appropriate Keywords in Your Skills Set
Using keywords is also a way to communicate your brand’s value. You gain an SEO (search engine optimization) advantage by putting keywords that are easy to search for your skills set.
You can start by examining the profiles of your target audience. Scan for keywords they commonly searched.
It’s best to always check the keywords that your audience are interested in. This approach will give you an idea of what exactly are the right keywords to use.
Ask for Recommendations
Recommendations are a social proof of your value statements. It’s also one of the elements that build trust in your brand and add more value to your profile.
To maximize the use of recommendations, just go to your profile page and scroll down to the Recommendations section. Then, select “Ask to be recommended” to request a recommendation from your profile.
