I personally use YouTube for my business.  And I can say, using it to market a business is easier said than done. With the enormous amount of competition on YouTube, getting the attention of your target audience on this platform is harder than usual.

To get the attention of your target audience, your content should meet their standards. You also need to give them a reason why they should check your videos and subscribe to your channel.

Seems hard, right?

Yes, but you don’t have to worry about it because I can help you.

Tips to Achieve Success in YouTube Video Marketing

As the second largest social media website and search engine, you should use YouTube to market your business.

Many experienced marketers and business owners consider this as their preferred social media platform for marketing a business. That’s why you should expect the competition here to be a tough one.

If you want to achieve success in your YouTube video marketing, you need to get the attention of your audience. To do that, you need to optimize your channel first.

Optimize Your YouTube Channel

You need to optimize your YouTube channel if you want to achieve success in marketing your business on this social media platform.

Personalize your YouTube channel. Pick your colors, layout, profile pic, and background. Your channel’s appearance works with YouTube’s algorithm that will boost your visibility. Hence, having a great YouTube channel helps in your search engine ranking.

Also, prefer using your business logo as your profile picture. People can easily recognize your business if you’re using your business logo.

Along with that, upload an interesting trailer for your channel. The trailer is a video that plays automatically when a user visits your channel.

Since the ideal videos aren’t more than 3 minutes, make sure that you’ll get the best out of it. Don’t waste seconds of your video talking about nonsense.

Your videos need to be educational to help your potential customers solve their problem. Currently, a lot of videos like that revolves around different social media platforms. The educational and how-to videos are currently trending and the most shared content on social media.

Doing the same kind of videos will give you plenty of engagement, and will increase your visibility to your target audience.

Your YouTube video marketing plan should include posting something useful for a lot of people. This can help you get more views on YouTube because informative videos get more views than promotional videos.

But even if you’re posting educational and informative videos, it will still not guarantee success. To make your videos more effective, make sure that they’re of good quality.

Post High-Quality Videos

The quality of your content can also determine your success. People often watch high-quality videos only. They choose to watch videos from channels that post well-produced videos.

Posting high-quality videos is also one of the keys to getting more subscribers!

So, make sure to include in your YouTube video marketing plan how you’re going to produce your videos. If you want to get the attention of your audience, the quality of your videos should beat your competition’s post.

The title of your YouTube video has to present your video’s message. But make sure that it’s not more than 55 characters.

By default, YouTube will shorten your headline if it’s longer than that number.

Your titles should be concise and describe the content instantly. That’s because a user will choose to watch a video with a complete title than the one that’s incomplete.

Also, make sure to use keywords in your title to increase its visibility. But be wary of using keywords that aren’t related to your content. Misleading titles will result in inevitable drop-off that negatively impacts your video’s performance in YouTube’s results pages.

If you have to use other keywords, you don’t have to include it in your video’s title. You can also add it to the description field.

Use the Description Field

Describing the video in the description field not only help users understand your content. It also plays a huge role in search engine optimization. You can use the description field to include the related keywords for your content.

Using the relevant keywords can increase the visibility of your videos.

But aside from keywords, you can also use it for other aspects of marketing your business. YouTube allows you to put 5000 characters in it. It’s enough to add a link to your website and to your other social media sites.

Use or Create Interesting Thumbnails

There are two things that hook YouTube users. First, the title, and second, the thumbnail. Hence, choosing the best thumbnail that will describe your video is vital.

People often watch videos with interesting thumbnails. However, make sure your thumbnail accurately represents the content of your marketing video.

Thumbnails must look good on any devices such as on mobile phones, TVs, tablets, and desktop computers. So always use high-res images ideally 1280×720px

There’s so much you can do with a thumbnail. In fact, you can even use it to describe your content.

If the image displayed on your thumbnail isn’t correct, it’s more likely that your viewers will drop off immediately after a few seconds.

You shouldn’t take your thumbnail for granted, because not only it can increase the probability of creating sales, but it can also increase your YouTube views.

Don’t Forget to Add a Call to Action (CTA)

Lastly, don’t forget to add a call to action or CTA to your YouTube videos to achieve success in your YouTube video marketing.

YouTube offers different types of call-to-action. You can choose between overlays, end screens, and cards. The right choice depends on your marketing goals and your business needs.

In your CTA, always ask people to like and comment on your video and subscribe to your channel.
